Course ​Description

This course is designed for Christians that are seeking to better understand, interpret, and apply Jesus' gospel of nonviolence while exploring the origins of Christian nationalism and just war. The four videos are sermons that were preached to a church in Asheville, NC.



Equipping Jesus' church to follow in his footsteps of peace, enemy love, and nonviolent resistance.

What you will learn:

✓  Class 1. A War of Two Kingdoms

  • Students will look at John 18 and Jesus' interactions with Pilate to see the differences between the two kingdoms they represent and the choice that is still presented to us today.

✓  Class 2. Christian Nationalism​​​​

  • Post resurrection of Jesus, what happens when a nation believes itself to be called to be God's representative on the earth?

✓  Class 3. Do Not Be Afraid

  • What role should fear play in the life of a follower of Christ? How does this intersect with Jesus' teachings of nonviolence and fearing only God and not man?​

✓  Class 4. Peacemaking not Passivity

  • Students will ​look at the difference between Jesus' peacemaking and his rejection of passivity along with his means on using nonviolence to accomplish peacemaking.
